Between 2011 and 2012, the SaferMobile project of MobileActive.org worked to build awareness and preparedness for threats that activists, journalists and human rights defenders face when using mobile technologies in their work. Unfortunately, in 2012, the SaferMobile site was removed from the web and the documents that had been produced by the SaferMobile team disappeared along with it. Colleagues have been asking us for these materials, and after a bit of digging, the team has been able to gather associated resources and posted them on GitHub. Here is a link to the GitHub repo where you can find resources from the project.
We are sharing this now so that this work can continue to be of service to activists, human rights defenders, and journalists, to other trainers, and to other groups organizing and acting for justice who may be seeking curriculum methods and content for learning and practicing mobile security.

Also, please do not rely solely on these documents. They have not been updated since 2011-12 and security concerns change rapidly as people develop new ways to threaten one another.
Our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped to make this project possible — the activists, defenders, and journalists for whom security is a mortal concern who trusted us and engaged with us in the process of creating these materials; the other trainers who worked with us openly as peers and advisors; and the team itself who worked so conscientiously in creating these resources.
